Bodycam Zombies for Halloween 2026: likely release date, what we know and what it could bring

Reissad wants Zombies mode back for Halloween, possibly with new content. What's confirmed, when it could land (Scream Fest on October 26, the intermediate update) and our predictions for what it will bring.

Halloween is less than four weeks away and the question keeps coming up: is Zombies mode coming back to Bodycam? Here we separate what's confirmed from what's likely and what's pure speculation on our part. Accurate as of October 5, 2026.

Confirmed

  • Zombies has been disabled since v0.8 Locked & Loaded (September 2). The studio explained the game's rewrite broke the mode and that it had "stagnated". More in why Zombies was disabled.
  • Reissad intends to bring it back for Halloween, possibly with new content.
  • In patch v0.8 #6 (September 25) they said there will be no more weekly patches for a while and that the next release will be a "minor/intermediate" update. They also mentioned "other stuff that we're going to reveal later."
  • No official date or trailer as of October 5.

When could it arrive? (likely)

Everything points to the last week of October:

  • Halloween is October 31, and the studio picked it as the target.
  • Steam runs Scream Fest from October 26 to November 2, 2026, its horror festival. For a zombie mode it's the perfect showcase.
  • Zombies first launched in November 2024, right in Halloween season. Repeating that timing fits its history.

Our bet: the announced intermediate update will land around October 26 with Zombies as its headline. That's an inference, not a confirmation: the studio said "intention", and it could slip to November.

What could it bring? (speculation)

Reissad hasn't said any of this. These are our predictions, from most to least likely:

  1. Zombies adapted to v0.8 systems: custom loadouts, the new grenades and drones against the waves.
  2. Village and Asylum returning, the game's two zombie maps, rebuilt with the new lighting and audio.
  3. The explosive-bolt crossbow, which arrived with Village in v0.7.0 and can't be used right now.
  4. Halloween-themed rewards, such as cosmetics or Reissad Points challenges.
  5. A brand-new zombie map. The least likely given the short time, but the studio did mention "new content".

Will the party system arrive too?

We don't think so. Reissad said parties will first be tested on an experimental branch and are tied to the anti-cheat. Zombies is more likely to arrive before parties, perhaps as a co-op mode playable through custom matches. That's speculation too. Meanwhile, see how to play with friends.
