A few days after Zombies launched, on November 11, 2024, Bodycam received update v0.1.3.3, focused on competitive multiplayer.

Maps

  • Rome: a large map with open areas and tight corridors, built for Bomb mode with several plant zones.
  • Logistics: a small close-quarters map for Versus and 1v1 duels.
  • Oil Rig returns, with some parts still pending community feedback.
  • Tumblewood is temporarily disabled for a rework.

Mode changes

  • Bomb: new strategic A, B and C zones that halve detonation time.
  • Versus: first to 5 rounds instead of 7, with side switches after two or three rounds.
  • "The Pit" is renamed "Duel".
  • Kicking is disabled in Gun Game and Deathmatch.

Fair play

  • Shadows are enforced for everyone, closing an exploit that let players disable them for better visibility.
  • Penalties for hosts who leave matches. The underlying P2P problem wasn't fully solved until host migration arrived in Locked & Loaded.
  • Vaulting is limited for realism.

Other changes

  • 8 new skins, plus adjusted point rewards and shop prices.
  • Better automatic team balancing.
  • Adjusted knife knockback.
  • Fixes to grenade kill counting, collisions and spots where players got stuck. The Zombies generator timer was also fixed.

Funnily enough, two years later Oil Rig and Tumblewood are out of rotation again in v0.8, with future plans according to the studio.
