Bodycam errors and fixes: crashes, Fatal Error, mic, friends and more (v0.8)

First of all, update the game. Several v0.8 bugs are already fixed in patches: for example, a crash when connecting to online services was fixed in patch v0.8 #2. If your problem persists, find it below.

Basic steps that fix most problems

1. Verify game files: in Steam, right-click Bodycam → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity.
2. Update your GPU drivers (NVIDIA App or AMD Adrenalin) and reboot.
3. Close overlays that hook into the game: Discord, Xbox Game Bar, MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner or RGB lighting software.
4. Remove any overclock on your GPU or CPU.
5. Make sure the game is on an SSD with free space.

Crashes on launch or won't start

• Do the basic steps above, in that order.
• Add the game folder to your antivirus exclusions.
• Check you meet the minimum requirements, especially an 8 GB VRAM GPU and 64-bit Windows 10/11.

"Low Level Fatal Error" or crash mid-match

It's a generic Unreal Engine error. It's usually GPU-related: not enough VRAM, drivers or an unstable overclock.

• Lower textures and shadows to medium or low.
• Cap your FPS at a level your PC can hold steadily.
• Watch your GPU and CPU temperatures.
• If it only happens on one map, verify files after updating drivers.

Stutter in the first matches

The first matches after an update or driver change often stutter while shaders compile. It usually improves after a few matches. For more FPS, follow the settings guide.

Steam login error

Since patch v0.8 #1 the game shows a clear message when Steam login fails. If you get it:

• Make sure Steam isn't in offline mode.
• Restart Steam and the game.
• Check whether Steam is having an outage.

Mic not working or can't hear anyone

The studio explained that voice chat was rebuilt in v0.8 and uses your Windows default microphone:

1. Windows Settings → System → Sound → Input: set your mic as default before launching the game.
2. Check Windows allows apps to use the microphone (Privacy → Microphone).
3. Since patch #1 you can mute individual players; make sure you haven't muted someone by accident.

My keybinds changed or don't respond

Patch v0.8 #4 reworked keybinding and cleared old saved data. The studio itself warned that some modified keys may need to be rebound. Go to Controls and check them.

I get sent back to the lobby mid-match

Patch v0.8 #5 added anti-AFK: if the game thinks you're inactive, it moves you back to the lobby. It's a first version and can misfire. If it happens while you're active, report it on the official Discord.

I can't invite friends or queue together

It's not on your end: party is disabled in v0.8 while it's rebuilt. For now, create a custom match from the Custom tab. Step by step in how to play with friends without party.

I can't find Zombies or duo Wingman

Zombies is disabled and planned to return for Halloween. Wingman is solo queue only for now. Live status on the status page.
