Bodycam FAQ (2026): Is it free? Controller, bots, Steam Deck or console?

What is Bodycam?

A multiplayer first-person tactical shooter that mimics a body-worn camera view, built in Unreal Engine 5. It's made by Reissad Studio, founded by French brothers Luca and Léo, and has been in Early Access on Steam since June 2024.

Is it free?

No, it's $33.32 / €33.32 on Steam. Everything about price, sales and refunds in how much is Bodycam.

What platforms is it on?

Windows 10/11 PC only, on Steam. No Mac, Linux or console version. The closest thing on console is the official Fortnite island. More in Bodycam on PS5 or Xbox?

Does it work on Steam Deck?

Valve rates it unsupported due to graphics performance.

What PC do I need?

At minimum an RTX 2070 or RX 5700 with 8 GB, 8 GB of RAM and 50 GB on an SSD. Full table in Bodycam system requirements.

What languages does it support?

Steam lists English (with full audio) plus French, Italian, German, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Simplified Chinese for interface and subtitles. Note that in v0.8 interface languages are temporarily disabled; the studio says they'll return "as soon as possible".

Can I play with a controller?

Yes: full controller support, DualSense and Steam Input.

Is there a story or single-player mode?

No campaign. You can play solo in custom matches with bots, which since patch v0.8 #3 pay 50% of Reissad Points.

Can I play with friends?

Yes, but not via party right now: it's disabled while it's rebuilt. Create a custom match from the Custom tab instead. Guide: how to play with friends without party.

What modes are there?

Wingman 2v2 (competitive, ranked), Versus 1v1, Hardpoint, Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch and Gun Game. Zombies is expected back for Halloween. Explained in Bodycam game modes.

Does it have microtransactions?

The real-money shop is disabled in v0.8. Weapons and attachments are unlocked with Reissad Points earned by playing. How to earn them fast: Reissad Points guide.

Does it have anti-cheat?

It's in development, tied to the party system's new connectivity layer, with no date. Tracked in upcoming updates.

When is version 1.0?

No date. The studio expects to stay in Early Access for "several years" and says the full version won't be different: the switch will happen once everything is polished.
